Faculty Team

Jingju Quebec is committed to the long-term promotion of traditional Chinese opera. We offer year-round Peking Opera training programs for both children and adults. Our curriculum covers fundamental skills such as vocal techniques, movement, speech, and martial arts. Classes are taught by seasoned professional performers and integrate stage practice to ensure learning extends beyond the classroom. We emphasize individualized instruction, helping every student lay a solid artistic foundation, take the stage with confidence, and find their own unique voice.

Shijia JIANG graduated from the Chinese National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts with a major in Peking Opera directing.
She has over 20 years of practical experience and teaching expertise in Peking Opera. Her teaching covers all key aspects of performance, including singing, speaking, acting, acrobatics, and dance — the five fundamental skills of Peking Opera.
She excels at tailoring teaching plans to suit each student’s characteristics and skill level, adopting individualized instruction to ensure that every student can achieve progress in their Peking Opera performance.

Yan LU is a senior instructor who graduated from Zhengzhou Opera School with a major in performance and pursued further studies in directing at Henan Opera School.
She possesses solid foundational skills, with a wide performance range, adept in both literary and martial roles. Her voice is crisp, sweet, and bright, and her acting is expressive and emotionally rich.She is capable of performing a variety of role types and characters, with extensive stage performance and teaching experience.

Dongmei SHI is a teacher of Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera.
She received training in performance and theoretical studies of both Peking and Kunqu opera, with a particular focus on vocal techniques and opera phonetics. She specializes in teaching singing, recitation, and diction in both art forms.
Her specialties include Qingyi and Hua Shan roles in Peking Opera, and Guimen Dan (refined young female roles) in Kunqu Opera.

Jia FU began his Jinghu training under the guidance of Lou Boyang, a renowned Huqin master from the Xun Huisheng Peking Opera Troupe and the Beijing Opera School.
He later became a disciple of Yang Hongjun, a celebrated Jinghu performer from the Beijing Peking Opera Theatre and the direct grandson of Jinghu master Yang Baozhong.
Fu Jia specializes in performing Jinghu accompaniment for representative pieces of the Yang school and Xun school.

Hanqin GUO is a certified dance teacher registered with the China Dancers Association and was a professional dancer with the Guangzhou Song and Dance Troupe. She received specialized training at the Beijing Dance Academy.
She actively explores and promotes the integration of traditional Chinese opera elements into dance.
With many years of experience teaching children’s dance,  she is beloved by both students and parents.

Haozhou BAI, Martial Arts Instructor, A senior instructor of traditional Chinese martial arts with over ten years of international teaching experience, Haozhou Bai has taught in China, the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. He specializes in Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qigong wellness, sparring, women’s self-defense and performance-based martial arts training.
He has long been engaged in teaching martial arts to both youth and adults, as well as choreographing stage performances. His teaching style combines systematic training with cultural transmission, and is rigorous yet approachable.
Currently based in Montreal, Mr. Bai serves as the martial arts instructor at Jingju Québec and welcomes students of all ages to embark on a journey into the world of Chinese martial arts.
