From the Basics to the Stage — This is Where the Dream Begins

Jingju Quebec is committed to the long-term promotion of traditional Chinese Peking Opera. We offer regular training courses for both children and adults.

The curriculum covers essential skills such as vocal technique, movement, recitation, and martial arts. All instruction is delivered by experienced stage artists, blending classroom learning with stage practice.

 

We emphasize personalized teaching methods to help every student build a solid foundation in the art, take to the stage with confidence, and discover their own unique voice.

Course Introduction

Children’s Introductory Class

  • Target Age: 5–13 years old

  • Course Content:
    Focusing on Peking Opera movement training, this class develops basic posture, form drills, and performance games. It cultivates body coordination and aesthetic sense rooted in traditional Chinese art. The curriculum blends classic elements with children’s interests, making it both fun and educational. This course builds a strong foundation for future stage performance.

  • Schedule:
    Weekend and weekday classes available

Adult Fundamental Skills Class

  • Target Age: Teenagers aged 13 and above, and adults

  • Course Content:
    Focuses on singing, speaking, acting, and basic movement training in Peking Opera. Students will gain an appreciation of the art form and experience the charm of traditional Chinese opera.

  • Schedule:
    Weekend classes

Stage Performance Class

  • Target Group: Students with basic training / Advanced level after foundational courses

  • Course Content:
    Project-based learning with focus on scene and repertoire rehearsals. Students participate in stage productions and public showcases to demonstrate their progress and achievements.

  • Schedule:
    Project-based instruction, rolling enrollment throughout the year
